MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Alderman Michael McGee Jr. was arraigned in federal court Monday morning.

He entered a not guilty plea to each count of a nine count indictment. Extortion and bribery are among the charges against him.

McGee appeared wearing an orange jumpsuit. When he entered the courtroom, a handful of supporters stood to show their support. He remains in custody.

His trial is scheduled for October.

The 6th District alderman is also facing charges in state court.
