Judge Denies McGee's Request To Have Case Thrown Out

State Trial To Begin May 19

POSTED: 5:20 pm CDT April 18, 2008

Former Milwaukee Alderman Michael McGee was back in court Friday, hoping to have the case against him thrown out.

In addition to a motion to dismiss the charges, McGee's lawyers argued that his handcuffs should be taken off for his appearances and he should not have to wear prison garb.

That request was denied along with several other motions.

McGee is facing state charges for allegedly buying votes during a recall election and conspiring to have a man beaten.

McGee's state trial is scheduled to begin on May 19.
