KENOSHA, Wis. -- An Illinois woman accused in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist last summer appeared in Kenosha County Circuit Court Thursday.
Woman Charged In Hit-And-Run Death Likely Won't Go To Trial Barbara Lee, 41, from Spring Grove, Ill., waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was ordered to stand trial on charges that include hit-and-run driving causing a death and homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.
The incident on Aug. 16 killed 44-year-old Gordon Kleifield of Chicago and injured a friend biking with him. Prosecutor Richard Ginkowski said a possible plea deal in the case is not final but could provide some closure for relatives of the victims. Lee's $100,000 cash bond has been continued. She is scheduled for arraignment Dec. 11.
