Weather Conditions Lead To Collisions, Traffic Problems

Snow and sub-freezing temperatures are creating some slick roadways. There were reports of several collisions Monday evening.

Icy Roads Lead To Several Vehicle Crashes

Cars Collide On Sunny Slope Road

Two school buses and five cars were involved in a crash on Highway 41 going southbound at Wells Street at about 4 p.m. There were children on one bus but no injuries have been reported. Sheriff's squads are currently at the scene.

The icy roads also caused a nine-car pile up on Hawley Road going Southbound, just above State Street and the Menominee River. That road is completely shut down, according to 12 News' Matt Salemme. There were some injuries in the pile up but they all appeared to be minor.

South of the stadium interchange there were two accidents involving a dozen or more vehicles.

The Sunny Slope Road bridge, east of Mooreland above Interstate 94, has been shut down in both directions. At least two cars were involved in a crash on the overpass. One car is badly damaged and overturned, according to 12 News’ Kai Reed. Police and an ambulance responded. There is no word on injuries at this time.

There was a 15 car, chain reaction crash at Layton and Forest Home in Greenfield. There were no injuries.

In Sheboygan County, there were collisions in the area of Interstate 43 and Highway 23 in the south end of the county. There were multiple spin-outs and rollovers reported. There were no critical injuries. WISN 12 News does not have the exact number of incidents.

In Kenosha County, there were three injury-related incidents and four others involved property damage. Most were reported on the interstate.

There was a 15-car, chain-reaction crash at Layton and Forest Home in Greenfield. There were no injuries.

Highway crews are salting roadways but police are urging drivers to use extreme caution.
